Progress Report on the $500 start-up

3 reasons why people don’t succeed in life

Fail roadWhy do we not go forward in life? Why do we become accustomed to mediocrity and boredom? Well, there is a variety of excuses we make for ourselves to stay average. Most of us spend our whole lives marveling at others move forward while we continue to daydream about what could be. One of the main road blocks that stop us from moving to the next level and becoming successful is our belief pattern. Here is the top 3  belief patterns that stop you from succeeding in life and becoming what you want to be:

1. Social Change- In high school students would always look at the odd kid as being weird and out of place socially. He would have the pink mohawk or tell off the wall jokes that nobody laughed at. As adults we act the same way about society. We live life in a socially acceptable way so we don’t draw to much attention. Most of us never do anything outside of the ordinary. But in order to become successful in life you must drift away from being apart of the “we” crowd, and become the person who everybody looks at weird (in a good way). I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with being ordinary, but if you want something different in life you must become the weird kid from high school.

2. Perfectionism- We have become accustomed to putting up a false mask to hide our imperfections. Therefore, we judge and stereotype other people forgetting that we have a mask of our own that will one day come down. One of the first things people will do when you move to another level is expose your faults and imperfections. If you want to know how successful you are count the number of people who admire you and double that, because that’s how many people hate you. Imperfections is apart of everybody and you must learn to use those imperfections as an asset. Showing your flaws makes you a better leader and inspires others to follow you. Therefore, don’t let your life be in a stalemate because you’re worried about what others think of you.

3. Pessimism- Sometimes the confines of life have demoralized us to the point that we start to doubt ourselves in whatever we do. We go into every venture of life with a smile on our face but deep down we are thinking that nothing works out for me. By doubting ourselves we are creating unseen self-inflicted wounds. Self-inflicted wounds is more destructive than what anybody can say or expose about you. Our own wounds is not only emotional damaging, but it damages the very foundation we rely on to become successful. Therefore, I encourage you to watch yourself and how you think, because self-inflicted wound hinders you from going forward and succeeding in life.

In the future I will discuss some of the self-inflicted wounds that cause a person to look at life from a pessimistic perspective – but in the mean time feel free to suggest other irrational belief patterns that might stop somebody from succeeding in life.
